FAQ

How long does a Skoy cloth last?

Since a Skoy Cloth is reusable and washable it can last a very long time, some people still use them after a year. A normal life cycle of a Skoy Cloth starts in the kitchen to wipe countertops and table tops. After using the Skoy Cloth for a week or two in the kitchen, it can be cleaned in the washer and “downgraded” for indoor cleaning such as floors, bathrooms, etc. After a few months in this stage, being washed a couple of times, the Skoy Cloth can then be used for outdoor messes, such as wiping patio furniture as well as for garage use. This is the great thing with Skoy Cloth, it can be used over and over again.

Will my Skoy Cloth shrink if I wash it or dry it in a dryer?

Our Skoy Cloth consists of cotton and cellulose and, as you may have experienced when washing clothes made out of cotton, cotton may shrink a little if washed in high temperatures or when run in a dryer at high temperatures. As such, the Skoy Cloth may shrink when washed or more commonly when dried in a dryer.

My Skoy Cloth shrunk when I washed/dried it, can I still use it?

YES! If your Skoy Cloth has shrunk be assured it still works great. You will also notice that once you wet the Skoy Cloth it will return back to approx the original size.

Will my Skoy Cloth be ruined if I wash it often?

No, the Skoy Cloth can last over 50 wash cycles if using a normal detergent; We have many customers that have used our Skoy Cloth daily for over a year. Having said that, it is always a good feeling to use a Skoy Cloth for the first time, so do not forget to buy new ones once in a while… Note: The Skoy Cloth is a natural product thus certain strong cleaning products may cause the Skoy Cloth to break down faster, e.g., soaking the Skoy Cloth in concentrated bleach is not recommended.

Where can I buy more Skoy Cloths?

You can buy Skoy Cloths on our web site (click here), on Amazon, or from one of “our Skoy friends”, both online e-tailers and local retail stores. If you do not find the cloths  in your local store, let them know you would like them to carry Skoy Cloth. If a few customers inquire, they are likely to take action and contact us.

On what surfaces can I use a Skoy Cloth?

Skoy Cloth works best on hard surfaces, such as counter tops, table tops, bookshelves, etc.

Can I use Skoy Cloth to clean furniture upholstery or to suck up a stain from a carpet?

Skoy Cloth is mainly intended for hard surfaces. If you want to try to use Skoy Cloth on textile surfaces then we recommend to use our white Skoy Cloth, since in rare cases a colored Skoy Cloth could discolor the textile.

Can I use Skoy Cloth in other places besides the kitchen?

Yes. Our customers use Skoy Cloth in many places: kitchen, bathroom, office, garage, boat, automobile, patio, camping, etc. Our golfers have reported that they also are great for cleaning golf clubs. Please use our feedback page and share your uses for Skoy Cloth!

What is the difference between Skoy Cloth and a microfiber cloth?

The biggest difference is that Skoy Cloth is made from natural materials and is 100% biodegradable, while microfiber cloths are made from synthetic materials (see Wikipedia). In other words, Skoy Cloth is more earth-friendly. Our experience also show that a Skoy Cloth absorbs liquids better than a microfiber cloth and as such is superior for kitchen use. Finally, we think that Skoy Cloth feels better in your hand when using it. Let us know what you think on our feedback page.

How is Skoy Cloth a greener cleaning solution than paper towels, both end up on the landfill and both are biodegradable?

It is true that both Skoy Cloth and paper towels end up on the landfill (unless you have a compost) and that both are biodegradable. However, there is a big and important difference — a paper towel you can only use once, while a Skoy Cloth can be used over and over again. In an average household, each Skoy Cloth saves 15 rolls of paper towels!

Why is reducing the use of paper towels a big deal?

According to EPA USA generates 250 million tons of trash per year, of which 28.5% was paper.
